In plain words

There are five sneaky troublemakers inside all of us — anger, greed, ego, and their friends — always trying to steal our peace.

But step into the Sangat, and they turn and run. Your inner treasure stays safe and even grows, and honor fills your home.

The Sangat sends your inner troublemakers running.
The deeper layer

Our inner troublemakers run away in the Sangat.

Panch chor means the five thieves. They are craving, anger, greed, attachment and ego. Aagai bhagay jab saadhsangayt: they run off when we join the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One. Nobody has to fight them with violence. Think of how a noisy class settles down when a kind teacher walks in.

The second line is about what we keep. Poonjee saabat ghano laabh: our poonjee, the savings of the soul, stays safe and grows. And garihi sobhaa sayt: the home is filled with honor.

A Question to Sit With

Which of your feelings gets quieter when you are around the right people?
