The Holy Are the World's Helpers

jagat uDhaaran saaDh parabh tinH laagahu paal.
God's Holy people are the saviors of the world; I grab hold of the hem of their robes.
mo ka-o deejai daan parabh santan pag raal. ||2||
Bless me, O God, with the gift of the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

God's holy people lift up the whole world — I hold onto the hem of their robes and stay close.

That is the gift I ask for, God: the dust of the saints' feet, the honor of walking humbly behind them.

The best people to hold onto are the ones who help everyone around them.
The deeper layer

Jagat udhaaran saadh prabh — the holy lift the world; santan pag raal — the dust of their feet, that is, the honor of humble nearness (grace, not merit).

A Question to Sit With

Who do you know that seems to make everything around them better?
