Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

A cool calm settles over you, peaceful and content, and the restless thirst for more finally quiets down.

Your mind stops racing off in every direction and comes home to a clear, settled place.

When the endless wanting quiets down, you finally feel at home.
The deeper layer

A restless mind finally comes home. A person becomes seetal, cool and soothed, and full of santokh, contentment, being happy with what you have. Sabh boojhee trisnaa — all the thirst for more is quenched.

Think of a cold glass of water after a long game in the sun. The thirst simply stops.

Then: dah dis dhaavat mit ga-ay — the running in the ten directions stops. The ten directions means everywhere at once. Now the mind lives in the nirmal thaan, the clear, clean place.

A Question to Sit With

What helps your racing mind slow down and settle?
