Nanak is blessed with the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. He finds peace, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Saints' Darshan. ||4||13||43||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One who keeps us safe, keeps us safe — and the doubts that used to loom turn to ashes and blow away.

Nanak says: with the treasure of the Naam held close, and the holy seen face to face, I am at peace.

When the Protector keeps you safe, old worries lose their weight.
The deeper layer

Safety and peace come at the close. Raakhanhaarai raakhi-aa bha-ay bharam bhasnaa — the Protector has protected, and doubts are burned to ashes. Bharam means doubt and confusion.

Think of fog on a car window. When the heater warms up, the fog is simply gone.

Then: naam nidhaan naanak sukhee — with the treasure of the Name, Nanak is at peace. Paykh saadh darsanaa — he sees the holy face to face. The shabad closes in safety and peace.

A Question to Sit With
