In plain words

The great burning inside me has cooled into peace. At the Guru's touch, the wrongs that weighed on me ran away.

I had fallen into a deep, dark pit, and a Hand reached in and pulled me out.

When the heat inside cools, it is usually because help arrived.
The deeper layer

Help arrives just when it is needed.

Mahaa tapat tay bha-ee saaNt — the great burning has cooled into peace. Tapat is the heat of a worried, self-driven mind. Parsat paap naathay — at the Guru's touch, the wrongs that weighed on me ran away.

Andh koop meh galat thay kaadhay day haathay — I had fallen into a dark pit, and a Hand reached down and pulled me out. Andh koop means a dark well. This is rescue by grace, a lift from above. Think of slipping in a pool and feeling a lifeguard's hand grab yours.

A Question to Sit With

When has someone reached out a hand just when you needed it?
