Searching Everywhere

Searching, searching, I wander around searching, in the woods and other places.

He is undeceivable, imperishable, inscrutable; such is my Lord God. ||1||

In plain words

I keep searching and searching — through woods and wide-open places — looking for the One.

The One cannot be tricked, cannot be worn away, cannot be fully figured out — that is how wondrous the One is.

Some things you search for turn out to be too deep to fully figure out — and that is the wonder of them.
The deeper layer

You can search everywhere for the One, and be amazed by what you are looking for.

Khojat khojat mai firaa — searching and searching, I wander around. Khoja-o ban thaan — I search the woods and every place. Think of hunting through the whole house for something precious, room after room.

Then comes the wonder. The One is achhal, who cannot be tricked. Achhayd, who cannot be cut or worn away. Abhayd, whose secret cannot be fully figured out. Aisay bhagvaan — that is what my One is like. The shabad begins with a search, and with awe at the One being searched for.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you keep wondering about that you may never fully solve?
