Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God, the All-powerful Creator, the Cause of causes. ||2||34||64||

In plain words

Remembering the One, peace arrives, and every feeling of being apart melts away.

Nanak says: I come into the shelter of God. The One makes everything happen and is the cause behind all things.

Remembering what you love closes the distance you feel from it.
The deeper layer

Remembering the One ends the feeling of being apart.

Jis simrat sukh paa-ee-ai — remembering the One, we find peace. Binsai bi-og — and bi-og, the ache of being apart, comes to an end. Think of a child who got lost at a fair and then spots a parent's face. All the worry melts at once.

Naanak parabh sarnaagatee — Nanak comes into the One's shelter. Karan kaaran jog — the One is able to do all things and is the cause behind every cause. The shabad closes on this closeness.

A Question to Sit With
