The living creatures and their ways are in God's power. Whatever He says, they do.

When the Sovereign Lord of the Universe is pleased, there is nothing at all to fear. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The way every living thing moves and lives rests in the One's care.

When you feel that closeness, the fear drains out of everything — there is just nothing left to be afraid of.

When you feel held, fear loses its reason.
The deeper layer

When the One is pleased, there is nothing left to fear.

Jee-a jugat vas parabhoo kai — all living things, and all their ways, rest in God's hands. Jugat means the way a thing moves and lives.

Bha-ay parsann gopaal raa-ay bha-o kichh nahee karnaa — when the Ruler of the world is pleased, there is nothing at all to fear. Gopaal means the One who cares for the whole world.

Think of a small child on a busy street, holding a parent's hand. The street is still busy. But the child feels safe. Feeling the One's nearness is like that. The fear drains out, because you know whose hand you are holding.

A Question to Sit With

When do you feel most held?
