Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Singing God's Naam, my pain, my hunger and my doubt are gone.

Ease, peace, bliss and delight have come, and all my work is complete.

Singing the Naam clears the ache, the wanting, and the doubt together.
The deeper layer

Singing the Naam clears away pain, hunger and doubt, and peace comes in.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Dookh bhookh sansaa miti-aa gaavat prabh naam — pain, hunger and doubt cleared away while singing the Name. Dookh is pain. Bhookh here is the hunger of endless wanting. Sansaa means doubt.

Sahj sookh aanand ras pooran sabh kaam — ease, peace and joy came, and every task was done. Sahj means natural calm. Think of a noisy room that goes quiet when the music starts. Singing clears the clutter, and things fall into place.

A Question to Sit With

What clears your head better than worrying does?
