Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Please hear my prayer — You already know everything happening inside me.

Nanak says: my Master fills every place there is, in every gap and corner, closer than close.

You are already known, inside and out.
The deeper layer

A prayer goes to the One who already knows.

Sun su-aamee ardaas jan — hear, Master, the prayer of Your servant. Ardaas means a prayer, a humble request. Tumh antarjaamee — You know what is inside. Antarjaamee means the One who knows every heart from within.

Thaan thanantar rav rahay naanak kay su-aamee — Nanak's Master fills every place and all the spaces in between. Think of the air in a room. It fills every corner and every gap, even where you cannot see it.

A Question to Sit With

What would you say if you knew you were completely understood?
