On all four sides I am surrounded by the Lord's Circle of Protection; pain does not afflict me, O Siblings of Destiny. ||1||

In plain words

Under the shelter of the Supreme One, not even the scorching wind can reach me.

All around me is a circle of care, like a ring drawn in protection — and hurt just does not get through.

A circle of care can surround you so trouble cannot get in.
The deeper layer

Under the One's shelter, even the hot wind cannot reach us.

Taatee vaa-o na lag-ee means the hot wind does not touch. In the hot summers of Punjab, the scorching wind was something everyone feared. Paarbarahm sarnaa-ee means under the shelter of Paarbarahm, the Supreme One beyond everything.

Chaugirad hamaarai raam kaar means all around me is the One's kaar, a circle drawn for protection. Dukh lagai na bhaa-ee means "pain does not touch me, brothers and sisters."

Picture a child in a thunderstorm, wrapped in a parent's arms. The storm is still loud outside. But inside that hug, the child feels safe. Many families say these lines when they need comfort or before a journey.
