In plain words

Without the Name of the One, even the beautiful are missing something essential.

It is like a name that carries a shadow of shame through no fault of anyone born into it.

All the good looks and advantages in the world still leave a life feeling empty if the deepest thing is missing.
The deeper layer

This one says: good looks without the Name still leave something missing.

The verse uses two harsh pictures from its time. One is a "noseless" person. In old India, having no nose was seen as a mark of deep shame. The other is a child born into a home that people of that day looked down on. That child's name carried shame, through no fault of his own.

Those were cruel insults in the 1400s and 1500s. We do not carry that cruelty forward. The Guru's whole path turns away from looking down on anyone. The lesson is not that some people are shameful.

The lesson is about what is inside. The Name means the living presence of the One. Without it, outer beauty and status feel hollow. Think of a beautiful gift box with nothing inside. The wrapping is lovely. But when you open it, the one thing that matters is missing.

A Question to Sit With

Can someone have everything on the outside and still feel like something important is missing? What might that something be?
