The opening shabad of the raag. Three movements: the glow on the face of one who turns toward the One (rahau); the ropes of illusion dissolving in love, and the heart charmed into wonder (v.1); the waking from life's long sleep by the smallest touch of grace, ending in praise beyond compare (v.2).

Guru Ram Das (Mehl 4)
- Shabad 1Those who become the humble servants of the Lord and Master, lovingly focus their minds on Him.
- Shabad 2Tell me - on what path will I find my Beauteous Lord?
- Shabad 3O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har.
- Shabad 4Now, I have come, exhausted, to my Lord and Master.
- Shabad 5I am a sacrifice to one who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
- Shabad 6Without the Name of the Lord, the beautiful are just like the noseless ones.
Guru Arjan (Mehl 5)
- Shabad 7O mother, I focus my consciousness on the Guru's feet.
- Shabad 8O mother, whatever is to be, shall be.
- Shabad 9O mother, I hear of death, and think of it, and I am filled with fear.
- Shabad 10O my mind, chant forever the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises.
- Shabad 11O my mind, act as it pleases God.
- Shabad 12Dear God, by Your Grace, my doubts have been dispelled.
- Shabad 13All the cleverness of my mind is gone.
- Shabad 14The Lord God is my praanaa, my breath of life; He is the Giver of peace.
- Shabad 15I have seen that God with my eyes everywhere.
- Shabad 16Chant the Lord's Name, and earn the profit.
- Shabad 17O mind, why are you so puffed up with egotism?
- Shabad 18God is the nearest of the near.
- Shabad 19O mind, meet with the Guru, and worship the Naam in adoration.
- Shabad 20O mother, how fruitful is the birth of one who sings the Glories of God,
- Shabad 21His fickle mind is entangled in a dream.
- Shabad 22All peace is found in the Guru's feet.
- Shabad 23Offer your prayer to your Lord.
- Shabad 24Place the Guru's feet within your heart,
- Shabad 25O mother, I long to see the Feet of God.
- Shabad 26Dear God, I long to behold the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.
- Shabad 27Your humble servant, O Lord, is intoxicated with Your sublime essence.
- Shabad 28O mother, without the Guru, spiritual wisdom is not obtained.
- Shabad 29The Lord and Master Himself has become Merciful.
- Shabad 30I offer my prayer to my True Guru.
- Shabad 31My God is the Master of the masterless.
- Shabad 32God, this is my heart's desire:
- Shabad 33O friend, such is the Dear Lord whom I have obtained.
- Shabad 34My mind longs for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, and His Name.
- Shabad 35O Beloved, Your Words are Ambrosial Nectar.
- Shabad 36Meditating on the Lord, His servant swims across to salvation.
- Shabad 37Some wander around the forests, wearing religious robes, but the Fascinating Lord remains distant from them.
- Shabad 38I have seen the Lord to be on high; the Fascinating Lord is the highest of all.
- Shabad 39I have looked in so many ways, but there is no other like the Lord.
- Shabad 40Know that there is One and only One Lord.
- Shabad 41His state cannot be known.
- Shabad 42I meditate, and sing of the Creator Lord.
- Shabad 43Turn away, O my mind, turn away.
- Shabad 44You are all-powerful, at all times; You show me the Way; I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to You.
