No one can rub out what the One does; I cannot see anything else like it.
Nanak says: I would give anything for the teacher — by that grace, I sleep in peace.
This one says: when you trust the One, you can finally rest.
The shabad ends on a phrase Guru Arjan loves: jeh prasaadh sukh soieeaai — by that grace, I sleep in peace. He says something close to it in Raag Gauree too: sleep in peace, and do not worry.
Here is why you can rest. One wise power is running everything. No one can undo what it does, and there is no one else like it. Once you make peace with that, the worried staying-awake can stop. You don't have to control how everything turns out.
Think of a night guard who learns someone else is watching the gate. He can finally lie down. Sleeping peacefully is the body's sign of that trust. The body relaxes because the mind has stopped standing guard over a world it was never running anyway.
What keeps you awake at night? What would it take to set it down and rest?
