Remembering Brings Every Treasure

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਮਾਨੁ ਮਹਤੁ ਪਤਿ ਪੂਰੀ ॥
jaa kai simran sarab niDhaanaa maan mahat pat pooree.
Meditating on Him in remembrance, I have found all treasures, respect, greatness and perfect honor.
ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਘ ਨਾਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਬਾਛਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਧੂਰੀ ॥੨॥
naam lait kot agh naasay bhagat baachheh sabh Dhooree. ||2||
Remembering His Name, millions of sins are erased; all His devotees long for the dust of His feet. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

When I hold You in memory, every treasure comes — respect, greatness, real honor.

Speaking Your Name, a lifetime of wrong turns melts away, and those who love You long only to be near.

Holding the One in mind brings a dignity that no one can grant or take away.
The deeper layer

Remembering the One fills the heart with every treasure.

Jaa kai simran sarab niDhaanaa — in simran, remembering the One, all treasures are found. The honor named here, maan mahat pat, is not status that others hand you. It is the quiet dignity of a heart that is full. A full heart has no need to show off.

Then the devotees long for sabh Dhooree, the dust of the feet. It is a picture of humility. They want to be near the One, rather than ranked high. It is like a little brother who just wants to sit close to you.

A Question to Sit With

What is a kind of respect that comes from inside rather than from what others think?
