Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One is the quiet strength of every humble heart.
Whatever You do or set in motion, I welcome it as good.
The One is my honor, my freedom, and my wealth.
I rest at the One's feet, and this is the way of life I have learned from the good and kind.
The One is my strength, so whatever the One does, I can welcome.
This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. Jan ka-o parabh apnay kaa taan — the One is the strength of the humble. Taan means strength. Jo too karahi karaaveh su-aamee saa maslat parvaan — whatever You do or cause to happen, I accept. This is trust in Hukam, the flow of existence. It is like a passenger who trusts the driver and can relax into the ride.
Then the verse gathers everything into the One. The One is honor, freedom, and wealth. Santee ih biDh jaatee — this way of life I learned from the good ones.
What is easier to accept once you stop trying to control every part of it?
