In plain words

With everything in me, mind and body both, I love the Naam of the One.

And in peace, in easy calm, in joy and celebration, I have been carried straight across the wide, frightening sea of the world.

Blessed is the place, blessed is the house, where the saints live. My one wish is simple: let me bow, with respect, to those who love the One.

Love carries you across even the widest, roughest water.
The deeper layer

Loving the Name, I am carried across life's sea in peace and joy.

This verse holds the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. Man tan raam naam hitkaaray — with mind and body, I love the One's Name.

The pause line promises a crossing of the bhav niDh, the wide ocean of the world. It does not happen by struggle. It happens sookh sahj aanand mangal sahit — with peace, ease, joy, and celebration. It is like being carried across a pool on a parent's back, laughing the whole way.

Blessed are the thaan and the bhavnaa, the places and houses where holy people live. The one wish left is to honor them.

A Question to Sit With

What place or gathering feels 'blessed' to you — somewhere you always leave feeling lighter?
