Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I bow with my whole heart to those who keep the One in mind — the One beyond every trouble and fear.

To have found that presence and given your heart to it is the most beautiful thing a person can do.

The most admirable thing a person can do is give their heart to the One who is beyond all trouble.
The deeper layer

The closing signature. Tin oopar jaa-ee-ai kurbaan — "I am a sacrifice to them," an expression of deep reverence for those who remember the nirbaan One. Nirbaan (nirvana) names the One beyond all disturbance — beyond craving, fear, and unrest, perfectly at peace. Nanak honors not himself but others who have given their hearts to that peace. The short shabad ends where it began — blessing the devoted — but now from the inside, in humble admiration for anyone who truly loves the One.

A Question to Sit With

Who do you deeply admire for the way they love something greater than themselves?
