In plain words

You are the only advisor I need — the One I turn to for every hard decision. I don't have to figure everything out alone. And I serve You gladly, leaning on the strength of the teaching to steady me.

You don't have to figure it all out alone — there is one steady counsel to lean on.
The deeper layer

This one says you do not have to figure out life alone. There is one steady helper to lean on.

Deebaan hamaaro tuhee ayk — You alone are my deebaan. In the old royal courts, a deebaan was the king's chief advisor. Guru Arjan says: You are the only advisor I need.

The world runs to many advisors and many opinions. Think of reading a hundred comments before making a choice, and feeling more mixed up than before. This line rests every choice on the One.

The rahaa-o is the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. It adds: sayvaa thaaree gureh tayk — I serve You, leaning on the Guru's tayk, support. So serving is not a heavy duty. It is easy, because something steady holds you up.

A Question to Sit With

Who or what do you turn to when you have a truly hard decision to make?
