In plain words

The whole world has gone a little mad with ego. In love with division, it wanders, fooled by its own doubts. The mind is pulled apart by worry, and almost no one really knows their own self. Busy with their own affairs, people watch the days and nights slip past.

The world runs itself ragged on ego and worry, and forgets to know its own self.
The deeper layer

A sweeping diagnosis: the world driven mad by ego and duality. The symptom is not recognizing one's own self (cf. self-knowledge as wisdom). Anxiety and busyness consume the days. This is the human condition before the turn (Gurmukh/Manmukh).

A Question to Sit With

What keeps you so busy that you forget to check in with your own self?
