Fire and Wind Alike Flow From One Source

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ॥
ga-orhee kabeer jee.
Gauree, Kabir Jee:
ਆਪੇ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਆਪੇ ਪਵਨਾ ॥
aapay paavak aapay pavnaa.
He Himself is the fire, and He Himself is the wind.
ਜਾਰੈ ਖਸਮੁ ਤ ਰਾਖੈ ਕਵਨਾ ॥੧॥
jaarai khasam ta raakhai kavnaa. ||1||
When our Lord and Master wishes to burn someone, then who can save him? ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One is the fire, and the One is the wind as well.

It all flows from the same source — so who is really apart from it?

Fire and wind alike flow from one source — nothing stands outside it.
The deeper layer

Fire and wind, and everything that happens through them, all come from the same One.

Aapay paavak aapay pavnaa — the One is the fire, and the One is the wind. Paavak is fire and pavnaa is wind.

Kabir sees one truth underneath everything. There is no separate power out there to fear or to make deals with. There is no "other" at all. There is only the one reality, showing itself in all things. Think of one ocean making every wave, the big ones and the small ones.

A Question to Sit With

If everything comes from the same source, what does that change about how you see the world?
