Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
You are all my treasures, my storehouse of everything good. Colored through with Your love, You are what holds my mind steady.
You are my honor; I feel myself blended into You. You are my shelter and my resting-place — the one I lean back on.
A cascade of belonging: nav nidh (nine treasures), bhandaar (storehouse), maneh adhaar (support of the mind), sobhaa (glory), ot (shelter), takee-aa (anchor, cushion to lean on). The striking phrase tum sang rachee-aa — I am blended with You — is the Ik Onkar note: not two beside each other but merged. Every worldly source of security is replaced by the One. Takee-aa (a cushion/bolster to lean on) is a homely, tender image of rest.
What do you lean on when you're tired or scared? What would it mean to lean on something that never gives way?
