Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Deep inside my mind and body, it's You I hold close. The secret of who You are, I received through the teaching.
Through the true teacher, one thing took root in me: the One, only the One. And on that One, this heart has come to rest.
The closing verse (||4||18||87||): man tan antar tuhee dhi-aa-i-aa — deep within, I hold You; maram tumaaraa gur tay paa-i-aa — Your maram (secret, mystery) received from the gur (teaching). Satgur tay daririh-aa ik aykai — the One, only the One, planted firmly within. Har har har taykai — the heart takes its rest (tayk, support) on the One. The love-song resolves into the discovery of oneness — all those tender names were pointing at the single reality found within.
When you love many people and things, is there one deeper thing they might all be pointing to?
