Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My One is all-powerful, unfathomable, utterly vast.

The Master is close at hand — it lives in every heart. Nanak seeks the shelter of the One with no end.

The immensity you cannot grasp is also the intimacy you cannot lose — vast beyond fathoming, yet nearer than your heartbeat.
The deeper layer

The close holds the raag's great pairing: the One is "all-powerful, unfathomable, utterly vast" and "close at hand — dwells in each and every heart." Vast beyond fathoming, yet nearer than your own heartbeat. This is the whole comfort of the raag: the immensity you cannot grasp is also the intimacy you cannot lose. Take shelter in that.

A Question to Sit With

Does it comfort you that what's too vast to grasp is also too near to lose?
