Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

By grace I hold the One in mind, and my doubts are gone.

Pain, not-knowing, and fear have all left me, and the weight of old wrongs is lifted.

Doubt, fear, and pain travel together — and you don't fight each shadow separately; light removes the whole cluster at once.
The deeper layer

The shabad opens with a clean sweep of the inner troubles: doubt, pain, ignorance, fear, and past wrongs — all dispelled "by Guru's Grace." These are named together because they travel together: doubt breeds fear, fear breeds pain, and all of it thickens the darkness. Remembrance, received as grace, dissolves the whole cluster at once. You do not have to fight each shadow separately; light removes them together.

A Question to Sit With

Which of your inner shadows tend to arrive together? What 'light' has cleared several of them at once before?
