In plain words

The Highest has shown me mercy and, on its own, forgiven me.

The One gave me its Name, the treasure of peace; Nanak says, hold that One in mind.

After all the instructions, the decisive move was the One's — mercy first, forgiveness given, the treasure placed in your hands to hold.
The deeper layer

After all the instructions, the biggest step was the One's mercy.

paarbarahm parabh da-i-aa Dhaaree — the Highest God showed mercy. He Himself forgave, freely, without being asked. The gift is the Name, sarab sukh, the treasure of all peace.

The shabad told us to serve, sing, adore and take shelter. But the first move was not ours. Mercy came first. Forgiveness was given. The treasure was placed in our hands.

Think of a friend who says "it's okay" before you even finish saying sorry. Our part is simply to hold what was given, and to keep that One in mind.

A Question to Sit With

What good thing was simply given to you, that your only real task is to not put down?
