In plain words

Those who come begging to the Great Giver cannot even be counted.

You, the almighty True One, fill the wishes inside their hearts.

Everyone everywhere is asking for something — seeing that we're all beggars at one door cures both pride and anxiety.
The deeper layer

We are all asking at one door.

kavan kavan jaacheh parabh daatay — so many beg from God, the Great Giver. taa kay ant na pareh sumaar — they cannot even be counted. Picture a line of people stretching past the horizon, all at one door. Everyone, everywhere, is asking for something. And there is one Giver who fills the wishes of their hearts.

This is the big theme of the shabad. All of life is a crowd of receivers, and only One is the Giver. Seeing this clearly cures two things. It cures pride, because we are all asking. It cures worry, because the Giver's supply is real.

A Question to Sit With

Does it humble or comfort you to know that everyone, even the mighty, is asking for something?
