Verse 6 of 9

A Heart at Peace With a Larger Will Steadies a Life

ai jee-o naam dirhahu naamay liv laavhu satgur tayk tikaa-ee.
O Dear One, implant the Naam within me; lovingly attached to the Naam, I lean on the True Guru's Support.
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਸੀ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਮੇਟਿਆ ਜਾਈ ॥੫॥
jo tis bhaavai so-ee karsee kirat na mayti-aa jaa-ee. ||5||
Whatever pleases Him, He does; no one can erase His actions. ||5||

In plain words

Dear One — plant Your Name in me; held by it, I lean on the true teaching's support.

Whatever pleases the One, it does; no one can rub out its doings.

A heart planted with the good and at peace with a Will larger than its own is the settled posture that steadies a life.
The deeper layer

The verse pairs a request with a surrender. The request: "implant the Naam within me" — plant it, so it grows rather than being carried by effort. The surrender: "whatever pleases Him, He does; no one can erase His actions." Leaning on the teaching's support means also accepting the One's hukam, the ordering Will that no one overrides. These two — a heart planted with the Name and at peace with the Will — are the settled posture the whole raag commends.

A Question to Sit With

What would change if you both planted the good in yourself and made peace with what you can't control?
