Cry 'Wonder!' and the tongue is adorned with the Word.
Through the perfect Word one comes to meet the One. How lucky are those whose mouths say 'Wonder!' How beautiful they are — people come to honor them. It comes by grace; Nanak says, honor is won at the One's door.
A heart full of wonder is naturally luminous — awe quietly beautifies the one who feels it.
The litany continues: the tongue that cries "Wonder!" is "adorned" — praise beautifies the one who offers it. There is a social note too: those full of wonder become people others "come to venerate," not because they sought status but because a heart full of awe is naturally luminous. Wonder makes a person beautiful.
A Question to Sit With
Who do you know whose sense of wonder makes them lovely to be around?
