Making union and separation, the One laid the world's foundations.
By its command the Light shaped everything and poured its own light in; from that Light all light comes.
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva were set to their tasks under the three moods; the One made the root of the glitter, and also the deep peace of the fourth state.
The second Pauree tells the creation as an outflow of one Light: "from the Lord of Light, all light originates." Even the great gods are assigned roles within it, working "under the three dispositions." And notably, the One made both "the root of Maya" and "the peace of the fourth state" — both the glitter that entangles and the depth that frees. The whole drama, entanglement and liberation alike, is staged by the one Light.
