Who could describe it? Who could understand it? The all-filling One has no ancestry, no origin behind it.
Who can describe the One? Who can understand the One? The One has no parents and no starting point.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Ka-un kahai kin boojhee-ai — who can say it, who can grasp it? Rama-ee-aa is the One who fills everything. Aakul means with no family line, no ancestors. Nothing came before the One. The One did not come from anything else. The One simply is.
This is not meant to frustrate us. It makes our neat boxes humble. We like to sort things by date, place and family tree. Think of trying to fit the whole sky into a school folder. The folder is fine for homework, but the sky does not go in.
The One behind everything cannot be filed, dated, or fully explained. We can know the One by living close to it. We just cannot catch the One in words.
