Whoever comes to Your shelter, You save by Your mercy.
Nanak has come into Your shelter; keep his honor, please.
Total surrender is safe because it's surrender to a reliable mercy — the One saves whoever simply comes.
The close rests the whole surrender on the One's reliable character: "whoever comes to Your Sanctuary, You save by Your Merciful Grace." The exhausted seeker who offered "save me or kill me" can trust the answer will be mercy, because that is simply what the One does for those who come. And he hands over even his "honor" — his standing, his dignity — for the One to keep. Total surrender is safe because it is surrender to a reliable mercy.
A Question to Sit With
Could you trust the character of what you're surrendering to enough to let go completely?
