Within the heart, beyond the heart, and in all places, God, the Perfect One, is seen to be permeating. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One is within and the One is outside; it is held in everything.
Inside the heart, beyond the heart, in every place — the Perfect One fills it all.
The One you seek is already the medium you're searching in — within you, around you, in every place.
The verse states the raag's non-dual center plainly: the same One is "within" and "outside," "contained in all." There is no zone — inner or outer, near or far — where the One is not. This dissolves the search for God as a distant object: the One you seek is already the medium you are searching in.
A Question to Sit With
If what you seek fills both inside and outside, where is there left to look but here?
