Verse 2 of 3

When You Don't Know Whom to Cry To, Find Good Company

moh rog sog tan baaDhi-o baho jonee bharmaa-ee-ai.
The body is tied up with emotional attachment, disease and sorrow, and so it is lured into countless reincarnations.
He finds no place of rest without the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; to whom should he go and cry? ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The body is bound up with attachment, disease and sorrow, and lured into endless circling.

Without good company it finds no rest — so to whom should it go and cry?

When you're trapped and don't know 'to whom to cry,' the answer is good company — where the crying finds a listener.
The deeper layer

The verse names the trapped condition — "tied up with emotional attachment, disease and sorrow" — and the loneliness of it: "to whom should he go and cry?" There is no relief "without the Saadh Sangat." The answer to the anguished question is implied: go to good company; that is where the crying finds a listening and the trapped find rest.

A Question to Sit With

When you feel trapped, where — or to whom — do you go? Is it somewhere that gives rest?
