In plain words

The Master has turned merciful all on its own.

I'm set free, made of joy, the One's own child — it has saved me. Palms pressed, I pray; in my mind I hold the Highest. Giving me its hand, the One wiped away all my wrongs.

Rescue is a hand reaching down to a child — not earned, but received, and the wrongs wiped clean in the grip.
The deeper layer

This shabad (echoing Shabad 30) celebrates rescue by spontaneous mercy — "Himself become merciful" — and the child-identity: "I am the Lord's child." The gesture is intimate: "giving me His hand." Salvation is not earned but received, hand reaching down to a child, wrongs wiped clean in the grip.

A Question to Sit With

What would it feel like to be reached for and lifted, like a child taken by the hand?
