In plain words

Know that your wealth is like something you own in a dream. Why are you so proud of it?

Even the kingdoms of the whole earth are like walls made of sand.

What the tide can take was never a safe place to build your whole self.
The deeper layer

Wealth is like a dream and kingdoms are like walls of sand, so pride in them has nothing solid to stand on.

Supnay ji-o dhan pachhaan means "know that wealth is like a dream." You can own something in a dream, and it feels real. Then you wake up, and it is gone. Kaahay par karat maan: why be proud?

Baaroo kee bheet means a wall made of sand. The verse says even the greatest kingdoms on earth are like that. Think of a sandcastle on the beach. It can be tall and beautiful. Then the tide comes in.

This is not a curse on having things. It is a reminder of their size. The sandcastle is lovely because it is brief. Just do not build your whole self on what the tide will take. The proud heart forgets it is standing on sand. The heart that remembers the One stands on something that holds.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever built something you loved knowing it wouldn't last — and did that make it less worth building?
