The One Is a Thread Run Through the Whole Cloth

ਸੀਤੜਾ ਮੰਨ ਮੰਝਾਹਿ ਪਲਕ ਨ ਥੀਵੈ ਬਾਹਰਾ ॥

He is woven into the fabric of my mind; He is not outside of it, even for an instant.

O Nanak, the True Lord and Master fulfills my hopes, and always watches over me. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One is woven into the fabric of my mind; it is not outside it even for an instant.

Nanak, the true Master fulfills my hopes and always watches over me.

The One is woven right into the fabric of your mind — not a passing thought, but a thread run through the whole cloth, inseparable from it. And it's always watching over you, never leaving you unaccompanied.
The deeper layer

A gorgeous image: the One "woven into the fabric of my mind" — not a thought that comes and goes, but a thread run through the very weave of consciousness, inseparable from it. You cannot pull one thread from a cloth without it being part of the whole; so the One is part of the very texture of this mind. And "always watches over me" — the constant, attentive care (as in Raag Devgandhaari Shabad 42, "wherever I look, I find Him with me"). The seeker is never unwatched, never unaccompanied; the One is woven in and watching over, at once the fabric and the guardian.

A Question to Sit With

What's the difference between a good thought that comes and goes and something woven into the very fabric of who you are?
