Only Tasting Satisfies

but only one who eats the food is satisfied. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The one who serves the meal sees all the dishes,

but only the one who eats the food is filled.

Only what you taste for yourself can fill you.
The deeper layer

Only what you taste for yourself can fill you.

Paykhay binjan parosanhaarai: the person serving the meal sees all the dishes. Jih bhojan keeno tay tariptaarai: only the one who eats is filled.

It is a picture from any kitchen. You can smell dinner, set out the plates, even serve others. You stop being hungry when you sit down and eat. Living the truth yourself is what feeds you.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you had to experience yourself to understand?
