By Guru's Grace, Nanak sings Your Glorious Praises; he is intuitively absorbed in Samaadhi. ||4||6||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Nanak says: By the Guru's grace, I sing Your praises, and I settle easily into a deep, calm stillness.

Singing the One with grace, the heart settles into effortless stillness.
The deeper layer

By the Guru's grace, singing the One's praises, you settle into a stillness that comes with ease.

Gur parsaad gaavai gun: by the Guru's grace, he sings the praises. Sahj samaaDh samaahi-o: absorbed in natural, easy stillness (sahj). This stillness is the ease of a soul that has stopped fighting and come home, the way a tired child falls asleep in a parent's arms. Guru Arjan signs the shabad as Nanak.

A Question to Sit With
