darsan bhaytat hot puneetaa har har mantar darirh-aa-i-o. ||1||
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of their Darshan, I am sanctified; they have implanted the Mantra of the Lord, Har, Har, within me. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Seeing them face to face, I am made pure. They have planted the mantra of the One, Har, Har, firmly inside me.

Holy people plant something good in you that takes root and stays.
The deeper layer

Meeting holy people face to face makes you clean inside, and they plant the Naam firmly in you.

The verse says darsan bhaytat hot puneetaa. Darsan means seeing, meeting face to face. Puneetaa means made pure. Just being with such people freshens the heart.

Then: har har mantar darirh-aa-i-o, "they have planted the Lord's mantra firmly within me." A mantar is a sacred word to repeat. The word darirh means firm and rooted.

That word matters. What holy people give lasts longer than the buzz after a fun party. It is like a seed planted in soil. It takes root, stays, and grows.

A Question to Sit With

What good habit or idea did someone plant in you that still grows?
