Steady In The Home Of Peace

I have become steady and stable, and I dwell in the home of peace. I shall never again wander anywhere. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I have become steady and settled, and I live in the home of peace. I will never again go running about anywhere.

When the heart finds its home, the restless running stops.
The deeper layer

When the heart finds its home of peace, the restless running around stops.

The verse says asthit bha-ay basay sukh thaanaa: "I have become steady, and I live in the home of peace." Asthit means steady, not wobbling. Sukh thaanaa means a place of peace.

Then: bahur na kathoo Dhaa-i-o, "I will never again run about anywhere." Dhaa-i-o means running, rushing here and there.

Think of a phone that keeps searching for a signal and drains its battery. Once it finds strong WiFi at home, it settles and stops searching. A heart that was always hunting for something finally finds a place to rest.

A Question to Sit With

Where or with whom do you feel most settled and at home?
