Verse 3 of 5

Even Once Is Enough

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਇਕ ਬਾਰ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਕਸਮਲ ਜਾਂਤਿ ॥੨॥
simrat ik baar har har mit kot kasmal jaaNt. ||2||
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, Har, Har, even once, millions of sins are erased. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Remember the One, Har, Har, even once, and millions of wrongs are wiped away.

Even a single turning toward the One is met with great release.
The deeper layer

Remembering the One even once wipes away a mountain of old wrongs.

Simrat ik baar har har: remembering the One even once. Mit kot kasmal jaant: millions of stains are wiped away. Kasmal are the stains that wrong actions leave on the mind. You do not have to be perfect first. A single turning toward the One is met with great release.

A Question to Sit With

When has one honest moment of change made a big difference for you?
