Night and day, I am in ecstasy; my mind has blossomed forth, rejuvenated. I am trying - I hope to meet my Lord. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I chant the Naam of the One, Har, Har, in my heart. The One, so full of mercy, has been kind to me.

Night and day I am full of joy; my mind has blossomed, fresh and new. I keep trying, hoping to meet my Master.

Holding the Naam close can turn ordinary days quietly joyful.
The deeper layer

Holding the Naam in your heart fills your days with joy and with hope of meeting the One.

Narhar prabh kirpaa karee kirpaas means "the merciful One has shown mercy." An-din anad means "joy, night and day." Man bigsi-aa means "the mind has blossomed," Kaanraa's flowering picture again.

Udam bha-ay milan kee aas means "I am making the effort, in the hope of meeting." This longing is bright and leans forward, like the feeling on the morning of a trip you have waited for.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you look forward to so much that it lights up your whole day?
