Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
I have looked into many kinds of worship, in all sorts of ways. The worship that counts is the one that pleases the One.
This body is a little puppet made of clay. What can it do by itself?
O One, the humble people You take by the arm and set on the path are the ones who meet You.
The worship that counts is whatever pleases the One, and the One takes us by the arm and sets us on the path.
Anik poojaa mai baho biDh khojee: I searched through many kinds of worship. Saa poojaa je har bhaavaas: worship is what pleases the One. Maatee kee ih putree: this puppet of clay. The picture is humility: the body is small, and the One's hand is what guides it. Parabh baah pakar jis maarag paavhu: the One takes us by the arm and places us on the path.
Every tradition has many outward ways of worship. What reaches the One is the love inside them.
What is something you do out of love rather than because you have to?
