Sikhism·Raag Kaanraa·Shabad 52
Verse 2 of 3

My Eyes And Ears Are Filled

ਨੈਨ ਤਿਪਤੇ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਜਸੁ ਤੋਖਿ ਸੁਨਤ ਕਰਨ ॥੧॥
nain tiptay daras paykh jas tokh sunat karan. ||1||
My eyes are satisfied, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; my ears are satisfied, hearing His Praise. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My eyes are satisfied, gazing on the blessed sight of the One; my ears are satisfied, hearing His praise.

When the senses turn toward beauty and praise, they feel full.
The deeper layer

Seeing the One fills your eyes, and hearing the One's praise fills your ears.

Nain tiptay daras paykh: the eyes are satisfied by seeing, by darshan, the blessed sight. Jas tokh sunat karan: the ears are content, hearing praise.

Think of the feeling after a good meal, when you need nothing more.

A Question to Sit With

What is something beautiful that fills you up just by looking or listening?
