This precious human life has become fruitful and prosperous; O Nanak, I am carried across the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||1||45||

In plain words

The Lord of the Universe has become kind to me and given me the Naam to lean on.

Nanak says: this precious human life has borne fruit, and I am carried across the frightening sea of the world.

A life leaning on the Naam becomes rich with meaning.
The deeper layer

When the One grows kind and gives you the Naam to lean on, your rare life bears fruit.

Kirpaa gobind bha-ee: the Lord of the Universe became kind. Mili-o naam aDhaar: I was given the Naam as my support. Dulabh janam safal: this rare human life has become fruitful. Bhav utaar paar: carried across the sea of the world.

Think of a young tree that leans on a strong stake while it grows. One day it is full of fruit.

A Question to Sit With

What makes you feel your days are full and worthwhile?
