Joining the congregation, I listen to the Gospel of the Lord, Har, Har; I meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, and speak the Unspoken Speech. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I meditate on the Naam of the One who cannot be seen or grasped. Joining the true Sangat, I have found the path of the holy.

Joining the Sangat, I listen to the story of the One, Har, Har. I chant the One's Naam, and I speak what cannot be spoken.

In the Sangat, even what is beyond words can be sung together.
The deeper layer

In the Sangat you find the path, and together you can speak of the One who is beyond words.

Adrist agochar naam Dhi-aa-ay means "I meditate on the Naam of the unseen, ungraspable One." Satsangat mil saaDhoo paath means "joining the true Sangat, I found the path of the holy." The Sangat is people gathered together to remember the One.

Akath kath kaath means "I speak the unspoken." Some things are too big for words, and yet a song sung together can carry them. Listening and remembering open the way.

A Question to Sit With

What is a feeling so big it is hard to put into words?
