King Janak sat on his royal throne and put the dust of the nine sages on his forehead.
Nanak prays: be merciful, be merciful, my Master, and make me the servant of Your servants.
Greatness is glad to serve and stay humble.
Greatness bows low, and the happiest place is serving those who serve.
Janak janak baithay singhaasan: King Janak on his throne. Na-o munee Dhoor: the dust of the nine sages, put on his forehead as a sign of respect. Daasan daas: the servant of servants. A king who bows shows that greatness kneels. Think of a team captain who happily carries everyone's water bottles.
