If someone aims an arrow at the Lord's humble servant, it will turn around and hit him instead. ||4||

In plain words

Those who come to the True Guru's shelter are set on firm ground, and the One comes to protect them.

If someone aims an arrow at one of the One's humble people, it turns around and strikes the one who aimed it.

Those in the Guru's shelter are kept safe, and harm turns back on itself.
The deeper layer

The One protects those who rest in the Guru's shelter, and harm aimed at them comes back on the one who aims it.

Thaapay: set firmly in place. Raakhan ka-o prabh aavaigo: the One comes to keep them safe. Sar sanDhai: aims an arrow. Fir ulto tisai lagaavaigo: it turns and strikes the one who aimed it. Trying to harm someone good ends up hurting yourself.

If someone is being unkind to you or hurting you, that is never something you have to accept. Telling a grown-up you trust is always the right thing to do.

A Question to Sit With

What makes you feel safe when something feels threatening?
