O Nanak, meeting with that God, I live, hearing His Voice. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My mind and body shine with beauty when I see the One with my own eyes.

Nanak says: when I meet that One, I live — hearing the One's voice.

To behold the One is to come fully alive.
The deeper layer

Seeing the One and hearing the One's voice bring you fully alive.

Sagaaravaa means made beautiful, dressed up and shining. Daykhaa har nainay: I see the One with my eyes. Ha-o jeevaa sad sunay: I come alive, hearing the call. Think of a child who hears a parent's voice at the door after a long day and runs to meet them.

A Question to Sit With

What makes you feel most alive just to see it?
